WHAT IS AIR EDUCATION & TRAINING (AETC) COMMAND?

Mission

The Air Education and Training Command's (AETC) mission is to recruit, train and educate professional airmen to sustain the combat capability of America's Air Force. People entering the Air Force are first assigned to the Air Education and Training Command, referred to as "The First Command." AETC provides basic military training, initial and advanced technical training, flying training and professional military and degree-granting professional education. The command also conducts joint training with personnel from the Navy, Army, and Marines attending courses on AETC bases. Through the Air Force Security Assistance Training program military personnel from foreign countries also attend training at AETC bases.

The Air Force's Commercial Sponsorship Program allows businesses to sponsor selected events on Air Force bases. In exchange for support to these programs, businesses are provided promotional opportunities on bases which they normally would not have.

These opportunities include product displays and demonstrations, literature distribution, signs and banners, recognition in press releases and at the event sponsored, and in some cases reference to the sponsorship in your commercial advertising.

Who do you reach via the Air Education and Training Command's Commercial Sponsorship Program? Over 500,000 people!

Air Education and Training Command consists of 69,000 military men and women operating 13 major Air Force bases in the United States. There are over 14,000 Officers, 55,000 Enlisted, plus an additional 14,000 Civilians assigned to the command. Numerous contract employees, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) also have access to our facilities and programs. Their families compose an additional 100,000 consumers.

The 69,000 men and women of the AETC have a combined yearly payroll of $2,730,000,000.!

All personnel entering the Air Force are initially trained at AETC bases or detachments. The command conducts continuing education programs for Air Force personnel throughout their careers. Each year approximately 400,000 students attend training sponsored by AETC.

There are an additional 78,000+ retired military personnel living near AETC installations. Many maintain contact with the base. These retired military and their families add millions of dollars in purchasing power to this market arena! Retired personnel are a major consumer group.
